Today, the term ‘Smart City’ is no longer jargon to us. Governments around the world are trying to adopt technologies within their countries to make their city, or country smarter and more liveable.

What is a Smart City?
The futuristic version of a “Smart City” is to have the urban district made safer, greener, and more efficient through different factors such as power, public transportation, IT connectivity, water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, and more. In short, a smart city is one that uses technology to provide services and solve city problems.

So what makes the upcoming buildings in Phnom Penh City Center (PPCC) so special and smart?

Limestone Network’s Smart City
The interesting part of the upcoming smart city is that together with its implementation partners, Limestone Network is creating a brand new project from scratch!

Limestone Network collaborates with Global Tech Exchange (GTECH) which helps to oversee the development of the smart city in PPCC. Once built, the smart city will create excellent growth opportunities for commerce, culture, recreation, and sports activities.

The special features of PPCC are as follows:

To drive Cambodia’s Smart City Business Digitalization process, PundiX has been tapped as a partner for the futuristic city development in Phnom Penh- the 100- hectare mixed-use private development project in the Cambodian capital whose digital infrastructure will be permeated by Blockchain. The operation of PundiX will depend on 2 main functions, X POS and X Wallet.

A picture of how the Pundi XPOS looks

The Pundi XPOS allows

  • Transactions to complete in less than 0.5 seconds
  • Accept payments from Limestone Network App
  • Work easily with XPASS & XWallet
  • Stable Coin Settlement without volatility

While the XWallet allows you to

  • Pair XPASS card with XWallet to enable better digital asset management, and
  • Send and receive LIMEX instantly between XWallet users without fees

The blockchain-based Point of Sales system was implemented at a cafe called Killiney in Phnom Penh. Catch Cherlin on a live demonstration on how LIMEX transactions worked on the blockchain network here.

Apart from integrating PundiX into the flow of creating a smart city, our very own Limestone Network mobile application will also be made available.

Some special features of our app includes, but not limited to:

  • Send and receive LIMEX tokens
  • Book facilities in the building (swimming pool, gym, function rooms, etc.) and,
  • Order food and beverages from different vendors located within the Smart city

Going forward, we will be sharing with the LimeTribe the progress of the Limestone Network mobile app. You may get a lucky sneak preview of some of the functionalities mentioned above! Meanwhile, stay tuned and check out our listing on Probit if you have not 😊
